Hobart Makeup Artist // 2018 & 2019 Bridal Makeup trends

As a makeup artist based in Hobart, Tasmania, lucky ol’ me gets to hang out with loads of awesome brides-to-be over the course of the year. Often during their makeup trials, they will bring pictures along to the trial with some ideas for their makeup. I thought I would share with you a couple of trends I have noticed in the hope that it will inspire you for your wedding day.

Soft & Romantic Makeup

This look is always on-trend and one of my most requested. Customisable to different eye colours and skin tones, I will be help you design a look that complements your individuality with no harsh lines or bright colours.

  • Perfect for those who dont wear a lot of makeup or want to let their natural beauty shine through.

  • Peachy colours on eyelids will complement blue/green eyes, browns and soft golds will make blue eyes pop. Brown eyes can go a little darker and still stay soft - browns and neutrals give a lovely romantic effect.

  • A lipstick shade similar to your natural lip colour, perhaps a little darker to show up in your photos, finishes off the look perfectly.

Berry Lips

This is really popular right now and there’s many reasons why.

  • Berry lips can come in different shades and intensities to suit the individual’s colour tones.

  • A bold berry lips looks fantastic with the on-trend Boho wedding style.

  • Berry lips go fabulously with trending bridesmaid dress / floral colours such as dusty pink/rose, burgundy and taupes or neutrals.

  • A simple yet defined eye look and a berry lip are a match made in heaven!
